How does Section 87A rebate make salary up to ₹12.75 Lakh tax-free under New Regime?+

If your gross salary is ₹12,75,000, subtracting the ₹75,000 standard deduction brings your net taxable income to ₹12,00,000. Under the new slabs, tax on ₹12 Lakh comes to ₹60,000. Section 87A gives a full rebate of up to ₹60,000, reducing net payable tax to exactly ZERO.
